KIRKLAND, Wash. – In its April issue, Seattle Metropolitan magazine lists 14 of the Puget Sound region’s hottest companies and Kirkland-based technology and personnel firm Allyis, Inc., is one of the top honorees. The company is commended for its family-friendly policies allowing employees to put their family at the top of their priority lists.
As corporate America evolves to include more family-friendly policies and perks such as flex-time and onsite childcare, Allyis takes the trend a step further creating a family-first atmosphere that honors employees’ personal lives, their families and their connection to work as it relates to their life.
Family-friendly policies, while highly touted and publicized, have been slow in coming and have not kept pace with the movement of women into the workforce according to analysts. In a new economy that calls for two-income households, these policies are becoming more and more relevant and necessary. Seattle Metropolitan has dug deep into the local business community to identify companies that are doing their part.
The April issue includes a story about Allyis’ employee, Cyndee Settle, whose daughter Tyler has juvenile diabetes. For most parents, the idea of holding down a fulltime job and being available for constant blood tests, diet monitoring and insulin shots would be daunting, if not impossible. But because Allyis makes it possible for Cyndee to put Tyler first, it’s a winning combination. Tyler gets a dedicated mother who can close her laptop at a moment’s notice to go to her school and fill up her insulin pump. Allyis gets an employee who is dedicated beyond measure and industry-low attrition rates. And Allyis’ clients benefit from consistent support and do not have to worry about knowledge transfer or loss due to turnover.
The April issue of Seattle Metropolitan magazine can be purchased at newsstands now.
