In one of my earlier posts, I outlined Allyis Leadership’s commitments, including our commitment to community, and today our Director of Corporate Citizenship just released the 2010 Allyis Corporate Citizenship Summary, which was very heartening and I want to tell you a little more about what we are doing. Our community commitments include programs for charitable giving as well as those that impact our environment, which have become increasingly important issues for everyone.

Allyis focuses its giving on local charitable agencies in the Pacific Northwest that support families, community health and welfare, and the environment. We believe that it’s extremely important for Allyis to give back to the community in which we work and live. Throughout the year we offer a variety of ways for employees to participate including bagging and boxing food staples at Northwest Harvest, donating money to their favorite charities through United Way of King County ( in which we offer an employer match), participating in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Northwest Chapter’s annual Beat the Bridge run, providing holiday and graduation gifts to Childhaven students, and several other opportunities to give or participate in charitable giving activities.

With the Greener Allyis initiative we believe that with small steps, we can make BIG change and this program focuses on our commitment to being good stewards of our natural resources and minimizing consumption in our business operations. Through education and awareness, where we’ve brought people out from our recycling company to explain what’s recyclable, what’s compostable, etc. We provide bins in our kitchen for employees to bring in CFL bulbs, cell phones, and batteries. We’ve also held PC Recycle events at the office. Our employees have taken this to heart and as a result, Allyis has received King County’s “Best Workplaces for Recycling” award three years running.
